Shade Collective was born from personal experience. As an esthetician whose mother battled multiple skin cancers, I became passionate about creating safer alternatives to traditional tanning, a challenge with my own fair complexion.

After starting my career in Orange County, I quickly saw what was missing from the industry. Spray tanning was often treated as cheap or tacky, and I envisioned something different: a refined studio where artistry, wellness, and skin health could come together.

What began as a mobile service in 2020 has since grown into a thriving San Diego studio, now expanding into our new multi-room flagship in La Jolla. Along the way, we’ve been featured in publications like Marie Claire, partnered with brands like Kopari, and worked with celebrities for red carpet events, recognition that reflects our commitment to quality and innovation.

Today, our expanded team of skilled artists serves more clients than ever while maintaining the personalized experience Shade Collective is known for.
